I like to think that twitter actually improves ones ability to write longer pieces. It's like that English class exercise where the teacher has everyone write a paragraph describing something -- and next makes you convey the same thing in a single sentence.

The better your economy of words, the more fits above the fold!

Twitter actually raises my hopes, because I can see that even those with short attention spans are able to attend over the span of two or three tweets - when a thought is longer than a single tweet will allow and the tweeter breaks it up into a series of messages.

Things are looking up!

But there's no way we could abandon blogging for tweeting because one just can't get a thought across in such a small snippet!

And more than half of the tweets I receive contain URLs for interesting stuff - without the original blog postings (etc.) the tweets would be entirely devoid of content.

Well, Sky, since I read all the way through and yet consider myself extremely prone to having the attention span of a gnat, from hanging out far too much with youth, I'll say that there are clearly exceptions to the rule, but your point is well taken.

In fact, I'd have ditched the blog altogether and would be twittering only if I thought microblogging were the be all and end all; but I don't. Here's Sandra's post along those lines that I liked a lot:
http://www.onlivingbylearning.com/2008/11/03/to-blog-or-not-to-blog-in-the-microblog-era/

Still. I realize I need to 'hush up' and less is more many times, so when we get our people power allocated to those other resources it makes good sense. btw, Did you see Tumblr is now in the hosting biz too? Interesting. Lots of youth chatter about same.

Also...are you going to the Teens in Tech Conf. 1-31? ttys, Sure wish I had a computer that worked this week. sigh. (btw, can you add the Age of Conversation2 bug to the sidebar? I forgot that one! eep!)
